What is BOOST Kids?
The BOOST program is a partnership between a local Regina business and a low-income underprivileged child. Together, we provide them with a HoopLife Membership to receive training and mentorship from the HoopLife Team each week, year-round. In addition, the child receives School Support, Birthday Gifts, and Christmas Presents.

Brooklyn is both driven and determined and is one who takes charge as a leader and encourages others to excel in all they do. Her interests are in Sports, Music, and Drama.
The need for Brooklyn’s funding stems from her current family situation. Pamela Artavia, Brooklyn's mother, has 6 other children. Pamela was left in a tough position as her husband faced difficulties and was forced to leave home. As a result, she has been working extremely hard with the financial burden to take care of her children. Brooklyn hoped to attend HoopLife and Pamela reached out to HoopLife for assistance.
BOOST Kids has given Brooklyn the opportunity to play basketball and to learn the skills of the game and skills to develop her character! She has loved her time at HoopLife and the opportunities it has presented.

Zane
Zane is the 4th oldest child - a middle child. Zane is full of spunk and is very charismatic. He is strong in both academics and in sports. Although Zanes love for basketball dominates his life, Zane also has a love for helping others. Zane loves to volunteer; especially when it comes to volunteering with little children and those with disabilities.
When Zane joined BOOST Kids, there were 8 children in his household and 6 of them were under the age of 16. His Mother had difficulties providing the necessities, and there was no room for programming. Through HoopLife, Zane was supported, able to build up his confidence, and gain more role models in his life that have ultimately led him to working towards College Level Basketball.

Millie
Millie is the youngest of 3 girls. She has an amazing personality, is funny and a very caring soul. She loves animals, the outdoors, swimming, and dancing. As she watched her sisters play basketball, she became their biggest fan and cheered for them. She enjoys learning and playing basketball and HoopLife would be an amazing opportunity for her.
Being the youngest of 3 kids, it was a struggle for Millie’s Single Mother who works full time and was in schooling to find time for her kids and to put them in youth programs. BOOST Kids has offered Millie and her family support through the opportunity to play at HoopLife & receive gifts and supplies.

Maverick has been a foster child since he was 2 years old when both of his parents passed away. At the age of 1, both of his parents died from an overdose. He has been under the care of a single mother for 14 years.
Social services provide Maverick with money for food and clothing. They decide whether or not to provide him with funding for extracurricular activities such as basketball training.
This year, his mother had to fight for him to join basketball training, but they would not provide the funding. His mother wants to send him to basketball training but cannot afford to send him to go.

Hunter's Mother financially supports her three children and disabled husband alone. She does not have the money to put her son Hunter in basketball or any extracurricular activities.
They are a single income family. Hunter's Father is permanently disabled and receives no income. Hunter's mother struggles to afford to feed her family, and bill's/ mortgage etc.
They are a habitat for humanity family as they do not make enough money for a conventional mortgage.

King is easy going and basketball has totally grasped his focus. King had a hard time adjusting his first couple years in Canada, and basketball at HoopLife has given him a way to meet friends and find a sense of belonging at HoopLife.
King has spent some time away from his Mom and their family in the past and they have since been rebuilding but struggling financially.
Through BOOST Kids, King is able to play basketball to ultimately fulfill his dream to make it in the NBA and be just as great as his idol Kobe was as he plays at HoopLife!

The HoopLife league was an amazing experience for our 3 children. The facility, coaches and overall program was exceptional. All of our kids improved significantly throughout the season, and more importantly they had a lot of fun. All of the games are live streamed which was a great feature.
